Norman D. Vague, 87, of Wichita, died Feb. 5, 2013.
Norman was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Ellsworth to Ralph (Jack) and Ida Mae (Kottman) Vague. He attended Ellsworth High Schools. Norm entered the U.S. Army, serving in Germany. He attended the University of Southern California, graduating in 1950.
In 1953, he married Anona Naegele. Together they raised four children. He worked at Beech Aircraft for 33 years as a cost control engineer. He enjoyed hunting pheasant and dove and was known for his Brittany Spaniels. He was also an avid sports fan. He liked the USC Trojans and K-State. He was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Norm is survived by his wife, Anona; son Mark (Lynn) Vague; daughter Kim (Greg) Veloza; daughter Joni (Dale) Welsh; Brett (Trang) Vague; grandchildren; Ryan, Rachel, Krista and Kevin Veloza; Homer(Janette) Welker; great-granddaughter Elyse; one brother Harlan Vague; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita. Burial was at Lakeview Cemetery, with military honors. Lakeview Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
