Roy Allen Oldehoeft

Roy A. Oldehoeft, 82, award winning educator and licensed funeral home director, died Feb. 8, 2013.
He was born Oct. 18, 1930, to Walter and Elsie (Riggert) Oldehoeft. His father was a teacher and principal of the school at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Ellsworth, during the 1940s. Roy was a 1948 graduate of Ellsworth High School and received degrees from Oklahoma A&M and Colorado College. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1959 and in 1987 was honored with the Outstanding Colorado Teaching Excellence Award.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters; two grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister.
The funeral was Feb. 15 at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, Colorado Springs, with burial in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Okla.
