Ralph R. Bruning

Ralph R. Bruning, 96, died Dec. 11, 2013 in Ellsworth. He was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Ellsworth County to Reinhold and Anna (Lange) Bruning. A lifetime resident of Ellsworth Co, he was a farmer and stockman. Ralph was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Ellsworth, where he was baptized Jan. 28, 1917 and confirmed May 10, 1931.

Survivors include a brother, Leroy of Ellsworth; sisters, Laverna Hunter of Kansas City, Kans., Norma Clark of Great Bend, Elda Warttig and Elsie Hunter, both of Ellsworth and Eva Katzenmeier of Abilene; 11 nephews and 15 nieces.

He was preceded in death by brothers Delbert, Floyd and Orval, sister Hermine, two nephews and one niece.

Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
