Betty F. Shoaff

Betty F. Shoaff, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend.
Mrs. Shoaff was born May 1, 1929, at Wilson to Edward and Emma (Chrudimsky) Hanzlicek. In 1949, she moved from Wilson to Great Bend, where she worked for USD428 Food Service and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She married Samuel C. Shoaff May 22, 1955, at Wilson. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Brian Shoaff, and his wife, Laura, of Hays; and two grandchildren, Morgan Shoaff and Alexa Shoaff.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Gilbert, Duane, Glenn, Larry and Bob Hanzlicek.
A private graveside inurnment will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney, at a later date. A public reception also will be conducted at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Harden Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend, Kan. 67530.
