Richard G. Barta

Richard G. Barta 75, died Feb. 9, 2014, in Ellsworth.

He was born Jan. 12, 1939, in Ellsworth to James S. and Helen H. (Helus) Barta. Richard was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth, where he worked as an auto technician for Larsen Chevrolet which became Holm Motor Co. He was a retired volunteer firefighter and member of the American Legion Post 174 and First United Methodist Church, Ellsworth.

Richard married Heather Y. Alder in Ellsworth on May 5, 1962. She survives him.

Other survivors include daughter, Nicole Moyer and husband John of Salina; son, Heath and wife Richelle of Lucas; grandsons, Aiden and Gavin Moyer and Keegan and Benton Barta; step-grandsons, Hunter and Gunner Hulse, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Toney Barta.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the First United Methodist Church, Ellsworth.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Theresa Forshee officiating. Burial will follow in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Department or First United Methodist Church, in c/o Parsons Funeral Home, PO Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
