Larry Lee Chegwidden

Larry Lee Chegwidden, 77, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Alva, Okla. Larry was born April 16, 1936, in Wilson, to John and Florence (Soucek) Chegwidden.
He attended school in Dorrance and Wilson, and graduated from Larned High School. He also attended a junior college and became a travel agent which he was for 30 years. Larry attended the Christian Church and enjoyed playing bridge. He attained the highest honor of Master Life for his bridge playing.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Douglas Chegwidden, and one son, Steven Chegwidden.
Larry is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Diefenbach and her husband, Don, of Alva,Okla.; one son, Brad Chegwidden of Jet, Okla.; one sister, Gail Patterson of Rozel; five grandchildren, Chonda Dees and her husband, Cody, of Alva, Okla., Jessica Chegwidden of Alva,Okla., Nick Penner of Wichita, Lacey Gaisford and her husband, Nathan, of Alva,Okla., and Travis Penner and his wife, Raveen, of Alva, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Paiglyn Penner, Te’Uami Penner, and Regan Penner; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 29, at the Wilson City Cemetery, under the direction of Foster Mortuary, Wilson.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Foster Mortuary, 610 24th Street, Wilson, Kan. 67490.
