Viola A. Campbell

Viola A. Campbell, 85, Lyons, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River.
Mrs. Campbell was born June 22, 1928, in Ellsworth to Fred “Fritz” and Wilhelmine Nienke Barkow. She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and a long-time resident of Lyons, where she was an agent for the Farmers Home Administration. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Lyons, NARFE American Legion Auxiliary, United Lutherans Women’s League and the Ladies Aid. She also was a Sunday school teacher.
She married George Campbell June 15, 1947, at Ellsworth. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter and her husband, Sharen and Antonio Garcia of Lyons; two sons and their wives, Doug and Judy Campbell of Nevada, Mo., and Donnie and Janice Campbell of Overland Park; two brothers, William Barkow and Richard Barkow, both of Ellsworth; a sister, Nina Hysell of Ellsworth; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Lyons, Pastor Jeffery Frakes officiating. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church or Sandstone Heights, Little River.
