Mildred Marie Christman, 93, of Tucson Ariz., passed Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at her home in Amber Lights Living Center.
Mildred (Milly) was born Jan. 21, 1921 in Holyrood, Kan., the daughter of Arthur and Emma Heitschmidt.  She grew up and attended school in Bushton and Holyrood, graduating from Holyrood High School. After high school she attended Fort Hays State University and graduated in 1943 with a B.A. in Music. It was at Fort Hays that Milly met and fell in love with Harry B. Christman from Ashland, Kan.They were married Jan. 28, 1944.
Harry followed his chemistry degree and went to work for Fluor Corporation in the oil and gas industry. Milly was a world traveler following Harry while he worked in various countries such as Canada, Saudi Arabia, Holland, Iran, plus many locations in the United States. They were active member of Marana Community Christian Church in Marana, Ariz. and Whittier First Christian Church, Whittier Calif.
Milly and Harry were married for 67 years. Harry passed in November 2012.
Milly is survived by three sons and a daughter:  Michael Christman of Brea, Calif., granddaughter Nicole; Pat and Linda Christman of Fallbrook, Calif., granddaughters, Michelle and Sierra of Seattle, Wash.; son Randy and Deborah Christman of San Ramon, Calif., grandson Noah, granddaughters, Alexandra and Annaliese; Teri Christman Saunders of Alvin, Texas, granddaughters Rachael and Annie; her sister Wadona Bircher and husband Don from Ellsworth, Kan.. and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Marvin and Kenneth Heitschmidt.
