JoAnn Ruth Bergin

JoAnn Ruth (Lagenberg) Bergin, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014.
She was born March 13, 1931, in Hoskins, Neb. to Henry and Ruth (Fletcher) Langenberg. She resided at Silver Ridge in Gretna, Neb. She graduated from North High School in Omaha, Neb. in 1949.  
She married Edward Bergin Oct. 25, 1952 in Omaha, Neb. They moved to Kansas in 1956 where they lived in Great Bend and Holyrood, returning to Omaha in 1981.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Edward; her daughter, Kathy; daughter-in-law, Charlotte; brothers Henry and Vern; sisters Virginia Johnson, Lois Jensen, Leon Kirsh, and Deloris O’Kane.
She is survived by her brother, Don Langenberg; son Tim, and wife Barb Steiner; granddaughters Kate and Sarah, Ames, Iowa; son Dan, grandchildren Alexandra and Matt of Rockvale, Tenn.; daughter Karin and husband Tom Renard, grandchildren Tyler (Lindsey), Tisha Choitz (Michael), great-granddaughter Bergin, and TJ of Ellsworth; son Tom and wife Kim, grandsons Sean, Patrick, Daniel and Jacob of Riverton, Wyo.; daughter Colleen and husband Mark Schulz, grandchildren Hayley, Madison and Jaxon, Bixby, Okla.; daughter Mary and husband David Stringfellow, grandchildren Bridget, Meghan, Molly, James and Erin, Denham Springs, La.; daughter Beth and husband Todd Carlson, grandchildren Lukas and Jamie, Gretna, Neb.; son John and wife Fiona, grandchildren Cosette, Claire and Collin, Chicago, Ill.; and daughter Carol of Moreland, and grandson Michael, Omaha, Neb.; Steve Bataglia and numerous nieces and nephews.  
The funeral mass was May 5 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Gretna, Neb. with interment at Calvary Cemetery, Omaha, Neb.
Memorials are to the Kathy Bergin Schiltz Memorial Scholarship, Hoxie High School, Hoxie, Kan.
