William W. Barkow

William W. Barkow, 83, died June 9, 2014, in Salina. 
He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Ellsworth County to Fred and Wilhelmine (Nienke) Barkow.  A lifetime resident of Ellsworth County, he was a farmer and stockman. William was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Ellsworth.
On Sept. 7, 1956, he married Carroll VanMeter in Holyrood.  She survives. 
Other survivors include daughters, Gloria Quinn (Bill) of Chanute, Barb Choitz (Ken) of Kanopolis and Pam Schneider (Steve) of Hunter; son Mark Barkow (Melissa) of Ellsworth; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nina Hysell, and brother, Richard Barkow, both of Ellsworth.
He was preceded in death by sister Viola Campbell.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Ellsworth.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) or the Rebecca  Morrison House of Salina, in c/o Parsons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth Kan. 67439.
