Billy C. Warnock

Billy C. Warnock, 80, Ellsworth, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, in Salina.

He was born July 21, 1931, in Manchester, Okla., to Harold and Mayme (Kerley) Warnock. Formerly of the Pratt and Freeport areas, he has been an Ellsworth resident since 1992. He was a retired golf course superintendent and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

On July 14, 1973, he married Marilyn (Misak) Mays in Wichita. She survives.

Other survivors include daughters Rita (Dennis) Cannon of Noble, Okla., and Tammy (Ryan) McGee of Hutchinson; a son, Mark (Trennie) Warnock of Woodward, Okla.; sisters Joyce (Peter) Romer of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Saundra Gilley of Phoenix, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and close friends Lewis Griem and Charles Rinke.

He was preceded in death by sons David Mays in 1992 and Jon Warnock in 2011.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

The Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the funeral home with burial following at 3 p.m. in the Spring Grove Cemetery, Anthony.

Memorials may be made to the Bill Warnock Golf Course Fund, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
