Art and Kathy Kohls receive an award from the Ellsworth County Historical Society from outgoing president Phyllis Dolezal, right.

You hardly ever seen one without the other, Pat Bender told members of the Ellsworth County Historical Society.

That certainly was the case Sunday as Kathy and Art Kohls of rural Ellsworth were recognized as the society's Historians of the Year.
Kathy Kohls serves as the organization's treasurer, but both have contributed countless hours to the historical society and its activities.

"We don't do any more than anyone else," Kathy Kohls said as Bender, a past society president, presented her with a plaque.

"You're always there when we need you," Bender responded.
