'Mother' Bickerdyke
Mary Ann “Mother" Bickerdyke, a Civil War nurse with connections to Ellsworth, is one of 24 finalists in the 8 Wonders of Kansas People, a project of the Inman-based Kansas Sampler Foundation.

LINCOLN — Everett White, 87, died March 4, 2010 in Ellsworth.

He was born Apr. 26, 1922 in Lincoln County to Lon and Anna Marie Ahring White. A lifetime resident of Lincoln County, he was co-owner of White Construction Company, Kanopolis.

Survivors include sisters Fern Miley and Ann Leiker of Salina, Delores Panzer of Lincoln, and Lola Short of Salina; companion Ilene Munoz of Kanopolis; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth with burial in the St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery, Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery Fund, in c/o the funeral home, PO Box 45, Ellsworth, KS 67439.
