HAYS - Emotions ran high at Felton-Hayes Middle School as the Lady Dragons of Wilson win the sub-state title 42-38.

The girls played a great  brand of team basketball, inspired by the 3-ball shooting of Megan Zelenka and the shots from the charity stripe by Karlie Steinle.

The Lady Dragons will enter the state tournament with their first game Wednesday night at Hays.

DODGE CITY - The Thunderbirds' bid for the sub-state title was left on Boot Hill as Macksville defeated them 46-44 in a close game.

Read the details of these games in the March 11 edition of the Ellsworth County I-R.
