The Carneiro Cafe MICHELLE VANEK Monday March 08, 2010
"Community Coffee"... The Carneiro Cafe needs it's own Blend ! I don't want to get too excited but perhaps Spring is on the way ! This has been a long winter, and I for one am ready for it to be over. The Church in Carneiro has a new roof..."Blue". Looks so nice. Pastor Holmes has had both knees repaired and doing great ! He's such a Blessing to our little town... We've had a number of people in the past month leave us and go home to be with the Lord. We will miss them dearly. Small towns are such a source of strength during these times. I think it's one where we shine the best. People who have been here all of their lives and know the history of the place. Getting together telling stories of what use to be. With some many of them over 80 now we are slowly losing them and with that so much rich history. In a big city, which I do still enjoy, that connection seems to be dim. Just something about "country living" that embodies America ! Most things are fine in Carneiro. Chad and Sara working hard as are John and Wanda. Kathy does a wonderful job taking care of the church and playing the piano on Sunday. Bob and Judy are so special...They do so much to keep the church in good repair, as with the maintance of the town hall...Bob will be having a little back surgery this coming week so we want to keep him in our prayers. Louise is doing well although she has a toothache right now. She loves her cats and they adore her... March 21st is the monthly Pot Luck Dinner. Bob Bohata will be performing for us and showcasing his musical talent. He's also wonderful with plants. Bud and Lottie are both doing well. Lottie once told me it was her own eggs, milk, cream, and cooking that's kept her strong and healthy all these years. Good food from the farm. And at 99 years young I believe she might just be right... Calving season is upon us and everyone is busy watching out for the new babies. They are so cute..running all around...new life is amazing to watch ! Earl and Teresa are working on the garden...they do a wonderful job. If anyone is interested in seeds we have a local seed supplier. Skyfire Garden Seeds They are out of Kanopolis, Kansas. They carry vegetable, flower, and herb seeds. Many heirloom varities. Micki is so good at what she does. Our garden was so nice last year with many of the products coming from her seeds. Visit her website price is very reasonable and she local ! www.skyfiregardenseeds.com Let this be the start of a great week for everyone !
