LUNCH AND LEARN: The Spring 2019 Ladies Lunch and Learn program is from 12-1 p.m. at the Ellsworth Steakhouse. Program consists of Ellsworth County women entrepreneurs sharing their experience with their non-traditional ag products. Lunch provided. FRIDAY, April 5

17TH ANNUAL MEETING: Rolling Hills Electric will be having its annual meeting with the registration and dinner starting at 5:30 p.m., and the business session beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at 3075B US Hwy 24, Beloit, KS.

SATURDAY, APRIL 6

MEET YOUR LEGISLATORS: Rep. Steven Johnson is in Ellsworth County this morning. His schedule:

• 8:30 a.m. at Grandma’s Soda Shop, Wilson. Rep. Troy Waymaster of Russell County is expected to join him.

• 10:30 a.m. at the Ellsworth Antique Mall with Congressman Roger Marshall. Both events open to the public. BINGO TIME: Vesper Community Bingo is at 7 p.m. at the Vesper Gym. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

SUNDAY, APRIL 7

WELCOME BACK: Ellsworth’s First United Methodist Church conducts its first Homecoming from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

MONDAY, APRIL 8

COUNTY BUSINESS: Ellsworth County commissioners meet at 9 a.m. in the courthouse meeting room. Agenda available after noon on the Friday before the meeting. CITY BUSINESS: The Ellsworth City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Ellsworth Golf Course meeting room. SCHOOL BUSINESS: The Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD 327 board of education meets at 7 p.m. at the district office.

The Central Plains USD 112 board of education meets at 6 p.m. at Central Plains High School in Claflin. MUSIC. MUSIC. MUSIC: Ellsworth High School band and vocal students present a Festival Concert at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10

MOVING FORWARD: Betsy Wearing, coordinator of communications, programs and new initiatives with the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, is the speaker at the annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. of the Smoky Hill Development Corporation. IN THE KNOW: Find out what’s going on at Ellsworth’s Coffee Chat from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Kirkham Michael. Public welcome. CELEBRATING 10 YEARS: Zeal Hair Salon and Spa hosts an open house to celebrate 10 years in business from 4-7 p.m. at the salon, 121 East First Street, Ellsworth.

COME SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS: The Central Plains USD 112 school district conducts a public meeting at 7 p.m. at Central Plains Elementary School in Holyrood to take public comment on where they think the district should go in the future. Gary Sechrist of the Kansas Association of School Boards will moderate the meeting.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12

NEW BUSINESS IN TOWN: Debbie Mog is the speaker for the monthly luncheon meeting of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce from noon to 1 p..m. in the community room at the Ellsworth Golf Course. She will talk about the new High Jinks Rec Club at 301 West North Main, Ellsworth, and the county cancer fund.
