Charles and Virginia (Grubb) Dolezal will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary April 23. They were united in marriage at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ellsworth in 1960.

Together they have two children: Daniel (Sherry) of Valley Center, Kan., and Pamela (RJ) Harms of Topeka, Kan.; five grandchildren: Christopher Dolezal of Olathe, Kan., Jennifer (Mason) Grittman of Enid, Okla., Matthew (Briana) Dolezal of Overland Park, Kan., and Jacob and Eric Harms of Manhattan, Kan.

Charles was a draftsman and surveyor for Van Gundy and Associates for 18 years, manager of Post Rock Rural Water District for five years, and owner of the Chicken Roost Restaurant for 10 years. During his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He still enjoys gardening and spending time at the farm since retiring in 1997.

Virginia was a dental assistant for 38 years with 13 of those spent at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility, retiring in 2002. She enjoys time volunteering for several organizations, gardening and spending time with family.

Charles and Virginia have lived in Ellsworth all of their married life and are excited to be great-grandparents in the fall.
