Posted in:

Chloris Elizabeth was born  Nov. 13, 1921 to William Roy Hendershot and Edythe Blanche Hamilton on the family farm in Marquette, Kan. She had one sister, Nyla Laurine, who quickly became her best friend.

Chloris attended the No. 8 School and was a 1939 graduate of Marquette High School. During World War II Chloris served in the United States military as a civilian, welding and driving large trucks in Wichita, Kan.

On March 14, 1946 she married Harris Roy Lindstedt in Marquette, Kan. To this union two children were born, Cheri Ann and Charles Harris. In 1955 they settled down in Glendora, Calif., where they raised their family and shared 51 years of marriage.

Chloris was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nyla, husband Harris and daughter Cheri.

Chloris is survived by her son, Charles Lindstedt; daughter-in-law, Lynn; son-in-law, Steve Brown; granddaughter, Piper Elizabeth Brown; grandsons, Matthew Charles Lindstedt (wife Colleen) and Gregory James Lindstedt; and two great-grandchildren, Troy Ian Sutherland and Harrison John Lindstedt. To this list are her dear nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Marquette area as well as many close friends.

Chloris’ most precious asset were her family and friends. Her sense of humor, fun loving attitude, and zest for life will live on with all who knew her.

Happy Trails.
