Carolyn Kohls (1941-2021)

Carolyn Kohls, 80, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, surrounded by family, at her home in Ellsworth, Kan.

She was born July 22, 1941, in Ogden, Utah to Henry and Elvera (Lange) Dockter. Carolyn shared her birthdate with her future husband, Kenneth Kohls. They married Aug. 8, 1965 in Rupert, Idaho.

Carolyn was a longtime resident of Ellsworth, Kan. where she was the secretary, treasurer, and gopher for Kohls Construction. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was part of the Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school and catechism.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Ellsworth; son, Kevin Kohls of Lawrence; daughter, Cindy Holecek (Darin) of Ellsworth; and grandchildren, Braden, Taylor, and Avery Holecek.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Donna Beall and Betty Maier.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth.

Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north Ellsworth County with burial following in the church cemetery.
