Constance Louise “Connie” Appel (1935-2020)

Constance Louise “Connie” Appel, 84, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, in Ellsworth. She was born March 1, 1935 in Madison, Kan. to Glenn I. and Waneta F. (King) Redding.

Connie married Albert “Popeye” Appel Feb. 26, 1955 in Bushton. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellsworth.

Connie is survived by her sons, Jon Appel (Sheri) of Manhattan and Adam Appel of Stillwater, Okla.; grandchildren, Jared, Logan, Aaron (Lindsey), and Adylee (Tyler); and brothers, Dale Redding of Augusta and Don Redding of Bushton. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Popeye; and sister, Sue Meier

Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at the First United Methodist Church, Ellsworth.

Burial is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Bushton-Farmer Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation, in care Parsons Funeral Home, Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
