Dwaine L. Pruitt (1936-2020)

Dwaine L. Pruitt, 84, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 in Ellsworth, Kan. He was born March 23, 1936 in Lyons, Kan. to Alfred and Dorothy (Johnson) Pruitt.

Dwaine married Betty Schneider in Lyons, Kan. May 15, 1955. He later married Lois Trapp April 14, 2007 in Ellsworth, Kan.

Dwaine worked as a supervisor for the Kansas Department of Transportation, he also served as an Ellsworth County EMT and Ellsworth County Deputy Sheriff Reserve.

Dwaine is survived by his wife, Lois Pruitt of Ellsworth; son, Wayne Scott Pruitt (Kim) of Salina, Kan.; Barbara Clark (Darren) of Ellsworth; son-in-law, Fred Butler of Ellsworth; step-children, Wayne Trapp, Warren Trapp, Wendy Miller; grandchildren, Katie, Kelly, Jarrod, Joshua, Misty, Lacy, Amanda, and Brittany; 14 great grandchildren; brother, James E. Pruitt; sisters, Dorothy Lee Williams, Lois Elaine Williams, Maudie Nell Novotny

He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Pruitt (Sept. 3, 2005); daughter, Deborah Butler; brothers, A.R. Pruitt, Frank J. Pruitt, Tommy Clark Pruitt, Ray Pruitt, Raymond  Pruitt, George Pruitt, and Willis Pruitt; sisters, Zona Gail Stoops, Clara Jean Carr, and Gleasnor Arnold

Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral Service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with burial following in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, in care of Parsons Funeral Home, Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
