Edna Klema (1926-2020)

Edna Klema, 94, passed away Feb. 10, 2020 at Medicalodges of Great Bend. She was born Jan. 8, 1926 at Wilson, to Edward Adolph and Ethel Mary (Miller) Macek. She married John A. Klema July 26, 1949, at Wilson. He survives. 

Coming from Ellsworth in 1960, Edna is a Great Bend resident. She was the billing clerk at Fuller Brush until she retired in 1997 and was a teacher for five years. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend. She loved her flowers and gardening, cooking and baking, as well as traveling. She especially loved her family. 

Survivors include her husband, John Klema, of the home; two daughters, Judy Ochs and husband Frank, and Carol Wiesner and husband Kevin, all of Great Bend; a daughter-in-law, Verna Klema of Hoisington; a brother, Eugene Macek of Wilson; five grandchildren, Brandon Ochs and wife Melissa, Brett Ochs and wife Cindy, Blake Ochs and wife Shelby, Shelby Wiesner and Becky Milsap; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Rick Klema. 

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society Rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil service at 7 p.m. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. 

Memorials are suggested to Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, Kan. 67530.
