Evelyn Kathryn Arensman (1927-2019)

Evelyn Kathryn Arensman, 92, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 in Ellsworth. She was born March 30, 1927 in Ellsworth County to Ralph and Mildred (Vodraska) Vopat. 
A longtime resident of the Kanopolis area, Evelyn married Eugene Arensman Aug. 6, 1947 in Ellsworth. They farmed for many years before moving in to Kanopolis in 1979. She was a member of the Carneiro and Kanopolis First United Methodist Churches and the VFW Auxiliary.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene in 1990; son, Donald; grandson, Scott Shute; great- granddaughter, Cailin Arensman; sister, Mona Brubaker; and brothers, Ed and Billy Joe Vopat. 
She is survived by her children, Lloyd (Row) Arensman of Olathe, Wayne (Stacie) Arensman of Salina, Barb (John) Kudlacek of Valley View, Texas, Sandra (Tom) Uecker of Kenton, Okla., Richard (Sue) Arensman of Ellsworth, Teresa (Bernard) Shute of Kanopolis, and Carl (Toni Kerby) Arensman of Kanopolis; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and her sister, Carol Shannon of Hutchinson.
Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at Parsons Funeral Home with burial following in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellsworth County Historical Society, the Carneiro or Kanopolis Methodist Churches, or the Ellsworth VFW Veterans’ Christmas Wreath Program, in care of Parsons Funeral Home, Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
