Jack M. Neff (1933-2020)

Jack M. Neff, 86, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in Hoisington, Kan. He was born Sept.3, 1933 in Little River, Kan. to Lewis and Blanche Leota (Whiteman) Neff.

After graduating high school, Jack served in the United States Air Force. He married Margaret Mills in Arkansas City, Kan. Aug. 5, 1958. Living in Holyrood since 1958, Jack was a retired maintenance supervisor at Enron Gas in Bushton, Kan. He was also a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Little River Masonic Lodge No. 219, and the ISIS Shrine of Salina.

Jack is survived by his son, Mark A. Neff of Salina; daughter, Jeri D. Elliott of Tigard, Ore.; grandchildren, Travis Watson and Maranda Houck (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Logan, Chandler, and Asher Houck and Shane and Jayden Thuesen; nephews, Doug Ritterhouse (Carolyn), Gerald Ritterhouse, and Scott Stumps; and niece, Cheryl Weaver. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; sisters, Dorothy Ritterhouse, Louise Stumps, and Lois Neff; and brothers, Robert and Billy Neff.

A private family graveside service will take place Thursday, April 23, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ or ISIS Shrine of Salina, in care of Parsons Funeral Home, Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
