Janie Mae Burmeister (1947-2019)

Janie Mae Burmeister, 71, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at her home in rural Ellsworth. She was born Nov. 11, 1947 in Beloit to Raymond E. and Marjorie E. (Miller) Burger.
Janie married Leonard Burmeister in Beloit on June 12, 1965. She was a longtime resident of Ellsworth where she was an independent childcare provider and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilson where she taught Sunday school.
Janie is survived by her husband, Leonard of Ellsworth; son, Jeffery Lee Burmeister (Amy) of Ellsworth; daughter, Janetta Loria Richardson (Scott) of Hays; granddaughters, Amanda and Amber Burmeister of Randleman, N.C. and Cheyenne Axtell of Ellsworth; grandson, Kayl Richardson of Hays; great-grandchildren, Callie, Kassi, and Remi; sisters, Karla Humfeld of Salina, Debra Kochur of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Michele Hixenbaugh of Newton; and brother, Brad Burger of Salina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janell Burmeister; and brother, Richard Burger.
Memorial service is at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth with inurnment following in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
