Jim F. Lamia (1952-2020)

Jim F. Lamia, 68, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020, in Salina. He was born Jan. 12, 1952 in Ellsworth to Jasper and Mary Ann (Simanella) Lamia.

Jim grew up in Kanopolis and had been a longtime resident of both Holyrood and Salina where he was a warehouse and counter salesman for Salina Supply Company. He married Cindy Richard at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Ellsworth July 13, 1974.

Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy of Salina; sons, Michael Lamia of Salina and Brian Lamia (Ashley) of St. Joseph, Mo.; grandchildren, Tyler, Kirsten, and Olivia Lamia and Brynnan, Gracen, and Bode Lamia; brothers, Leonard Lamia (Vickie) of North Little Rock, Ark. (Leonard passed away five weeks after Jim), and Anthony Lamia (Diane) of Holyrood; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Debby Oestmann of Aurora, Colo.; and brother-in-law, Dru Richard (Candy) of Ellsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Loren and Drucilla Richard; and brother-in-law, Vernon Oestmann.

Inurnment is at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at Kanopolis Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, Salina.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Cheyenne Bottoms or the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church — Angel Academy Preschool, in care of Parsons Funeral Home, Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
