Walter Duane Donley (1930-2020)

Walter Duane Donley, 90, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at his home in Lincoln. He was born May 31, 1930 on the family farm in Lincoln County to Samuel Henry and Florence Leora (Mays) Donley.

Walter was a longtime resident of Lincoln County where he was a farmer and stockman. He married Betty Ann Habarta. She preceded him in death in 1978. Walter served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Lincoln VFW.

Walter is survived by his son, Gene P. Donley; daughter, Dena Donley; granddaughters, Serrina Schneider (Brandon) and Kylie Donley; grandson, Gene D. Donley; great-grandchildren, Cohen Gotti and Tennyson Donley; brother, Samuel Dwight Donley (Bonnie) and sisters, Phyllis Engelbert and Neva Rathbun.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; son, Steven Donley; grandson, Samuel Ernest Donley; brother, Keith Arnold Donley and sisters, Melba Murphy and Ila Gale Kennedy.

Visitation is 1-7 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Parson’s Funeral Home — Hall Chapel, Lincoln with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 27, at Parsons Funeral Home — Hall Chapel with burial following in Lincoln Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Lincoln United Methodist Church, Lincoln Art Center, or the Hammer Cemetery, in care of Parsons Funeral Home — Hall Chapel, 111 E. Elm, Lincoln, Kan. 67455.
