After the votes were officially tallied Monday morning, there were 119 votes but commissioners kicked out 10 of them, putting voter turnout for the mayor’s primary in Kanopolis at 32 percent.

Ellsworth County clerk Shelly Vopat said the votes were tossed because one was blank and the other nine had two candidates marked on a single ballot.
