Concern expressed over jail, courthouse

The Ellsworth County Commissioners heard a concern from a county resident about proposed work on the county jail and courthouse.

John Svaty, Ellsworth, said he was opposed to construction of a jail and courthouse.

Commissioner Shawn Thomas said the county has so far only committed funds for a company to do a complete assessment of both buildings to see what needs to be done.

“We haven’t made any decisions on what is going to be done,” Commission Chairman Greg Bender added.
