County approves internet contract with H&B Communications

More 2025 budget requests were fielded by the Ellsworth County Commission Monday.

Ellsworth County Health Department Administrator Kerianne Ehrlich requested $416,738 for 2025. That is a 2.17 percent increase from the $407,888 she received for 2024.

In other business:

• No action was taken after a 10-minute executive session with Ehrlich to discuss non-elected personnel (contracts).

• Teresa Shute, director of the county noxious weed department, landfill and recycling program, requested 2025 budgets as follows: noxious weed, $346,550 ($320,000 received for 2024); landfill, $97,650 ($84,260 received for 2024); and recycling, $14,900 ($14,750 received for 2024).

• Sheriff Murray Marston requested a 2025 budget of $1,755,039.09. For 2024 he received $1,557,140.

• Approval was given to renew internet and telephone service with H&B Communications on a 5-year service contract in the amount of $982 per month.

• No action was taken after a 10-minnute executive session with County Appraiser Carl Miller to discuss non-elected personnel (employees).

The next meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission will be at 9 a.m. Monday, July 1, at the county courthouse.
