County discusses tower installation requirements

Due to the winter storm, the Ellsworth County Commission did not meet Monday.
During the Dec. 30 meeting, the commissioners discussed county resolution enforcement.
Specifically, they discussed the requirement for companies to notify the county before a communication tower is installed. Failure to comply with that resolution may result in penalties being imposed.
“We need to set a precedent,” Commissioner Shawn Thomas said.
• December payroll of $353,942.59 was approved.
• December accounts payable in the amount of $569,710.13 plus pre-written warrants in the amount of $89,442.46 totalling $659,152.59 were approved.
The next meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the county courthouse.
