Solar table installed in Wilson
WILSON — With school in full swing, students and community members alike will have the opportunity to take advantage of a charging station for electronic devices downtown.
But the solar work station will benefit more than students. The table will also serve as a place for patients and medical staff to sit outside the nearby medical center. Additionally, parents with children at the nearby splash pad or children or volunteers at Feeding the Children of Central Kansas can also utilize the new feature.
Lynn Kasper, director of Feeding the Children of Central Kansas, said the table, which was donated, costs almost $17,000. The CampusXL workstation table, donated by Sunbolt, was installed July 25.
On hand at 7:30 a.m. on delivery day were Sonny Bohnen, Joe Soukup, Jake Rowden, Henry Kingsbury and Braden Nelson to lower it from the semi and install it.
Kasper said Soukup and Bohnen operated the skid steer and forklift for the project.
Sunbolt donated the flagship CampusXL unit in celebration of their 10-year anniversary.
