Kansas Republicans have an opportunity to select which candidate they wish to see on the ballot for the November general election. The primary election is Aug. 6.The I-R made every reasonable effort to reach candidates running for the 33rd Senate District and the U.S. House 1st District.

Wilson increases city service fees

WILSON — The City of Wilson will not request an increase in the revenue neutral rate for 2025.At Monday’s meeting of the Wilson City Council, the 2025 budget summary was approved and the public hearing on the budget was set for 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at city hall.

KANOPOLIS — Water topped the agenda of the Kanopolis City Council. This time, however, it wasn’t over the extensively delayed proposed water tower. It was about the lead pipe replacement plan.

Ellsworth intends to exceed revenue neutral rate

At Monday’s meeting of the Ellsworth City Council, City Administrator Dustin Stambaugh recommended the city file an official notice of intent to exceed the revenue neutral rate with the Ellsworth County Clerk.

County approves internet contract with H&B Communications

More 2025 budget requests were fielded by the Ellsworth County Commission Monday.Ellsworth County Health Department Administrator Kerianne Ehrlich requested $416,738 for 2025. That is a 2.17 percent increase from the $407,888 she received for 2024.
