In each city in Ellsworth County, the race for mayor will be contested.Ellsworth, Wilson and Kanopolis all have two candidates vying for the mayor’s seat. The deadline to file for office was noon June 2.

Forensics team nabs three medals, takes 10th at state

Special to the I-RMAIZE — The Ellsworth forensics team competed at the 3A State Forensics Tournament Saturday, May 3, at Maize High School. Three team members placed and the team took 10th place overall out of 64 3A schools.

Wilson group to repair, replace wood at play structure

WILSON — At Monday’s meeting of the Wilson City Council, after giving a report on their efforts to refurbish the playground fort at Wilson’s Pride Spray Park, members of the Wilson Community Empowerment group were asked to continue their efforts and give an update at the May 19 council meeting.
