ELECTION HANGOVER

We can’t stand silent to the forces of racism and bigotry

by Linda Mowery-Denning

Over the past week, I’ve tried to follow President Obama’s example and be gracious about the results of the recent presidential election or — as my Republican friends advise — just get over it. It’s not going well.

I keep thinking about the son of my best friend. Richard was everything. Smart. Funny. Handsome. And gay.

Three sisters remember a brother

Editor’s Note — We received the following e-mail from Sharen Resendes: Having grown up on a farm outside of Marquette and a 1963 graduate of Marquette High School, I am proud to continue to call Marquette “My Hometown.” I have subscribed to the Marquette Tribune over all these years and enjoy reading about Marquette. I thought perhaps it would be of interest to some who still remember the Atkinson family to read about the Atkinson girls latest gathering.
