When Amelia Fosdick of Ellsworth decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day at The Garage Automotive Museum in Salina, she had no idea she’d end the night by acquiring a new addition to her family.

Christie, the Kanopolis Drive-In’s old projector, is removed from the projection room Monday afternoon. The projector was deemed unrepairable in October, and a new projector will be installed this week. KAREN BONAR/Ellsworth County Independent-Reporter

KANOPOLIS — Carefully, four men hoisted Christie off of her stand. The pallbearers took her out of the projection room at the Kanopolis Drive-In and nestled her in a temporary resting place, on a bed of rocks on the north side of the concession stand.
