Sam and Janet Peppiatt left, on their wedding day, and above, today.

Sam H. and Janet Ann (Lank) Peppiatt will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary April 2. They were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, Kan. in 1960. Janet is the daughter of the late Joe F. and Emilie Lank who lived at Holyrood Lake, Kan. Sam is the son of the late Russell and Vera Peppiatt who lived at Ellsworth.

Janet is a homemaker and Sam is a retired petroleum geologist who has worked in the petroleum industry for 55 years for different oil companies. They have lived in Texas all of their married life except for a three-year stint in Connecticut. They also owned and operated Peppiatt Exploration, an oil and gas company located in Houston, Texas.

They have two children, daughter Jennifer Artkop, who lives in Garland, Texas with her husband Greg, and son Ray, who lives in Oro Valley, Ariz. with his wife Carol. They have five grandchildren: Kaley Artkop of Dallas, Texas; Kyle Artkop, Falls Church, Va.; Kerry Artkop, Lubbock, Texas; and twins Trent and Lauren Peppiatt of Oro Valley, Ariz.

As part of the couple’s diamond jubilee, the family is assembling a scrapbook to hold memories — past and present. Please send photos, old or new, any memories, stories or wellwishes and greeting cards to Sam and Janet Peppiatt, 7602 Covewood Drive, Garland, Texas 75044.
