Bowen-Olson wedding

Before an elegant arbor, draped with linen, white flowers and candlelight, Kate Opel Bowen and Dixon Lane Olson were united in marriage May 24, 2019 at the Grace Baptist Church in Manhattan. The double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor Bill Gasser at 6 p.m.
Parents of the bride are Greg and Melinda Bowen of Keats, Kan. Grandparents are Charles and Judy Shurle, and J.L. and Agatha Bowen.  
Parents of the groom are Dana and Julie Olson of Marquette. Dixon is the grandson of Beverly Olson and the late LaRue Olson and Juanita Hughes and the late Bill Hughes, all of Marquette.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore her mother’s wedding gown of antique taffeta. The elegant gown was an A-line style with a fitted bodice, lace cap sleeves and a sweetheart neckline.  She carried fresh cut, garden flowers.
 The bridesmaids wore raspberry sun dresses and the groomsmen wore navy blue.
A reception, surrounded by family and friends followed the ceremony at The Venue and Urban Gardens in Manhattan.
Dixon is employed by the city of Wichita in the Park and Forestry Department. Kate attends graduate school at Wichita State University, for her doctorate in physical therapy.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico the couple is at home in Valley Center.
