Grain prices down for the week

Prices paid for grain at the Ellsworth Co-op at the end of the business day, Monday, July 22, were: Wheat, bu. — $3.97, down 22 cents from July 15. Milo, bu. — $3.42, down 19 cents. Soybeans, bu. — $7.42, down 14 cents. Corn, bu. — $3.92, down 19 cents. The co-op has locations in Ellsworth, Black Wolf, Farhman, Hitschmann, Holyrood and Kanopolis.

City of Kanopolis has new treasurer

Shawnka Goode is the new part-time treasurer for the City of Kanopolis. Goode was selected July 16, during a special meeting of the Kanopolis City Council. Goode succeeds Peggy Kempke who resigned last month. Goode’s first day was July 17. Her starting wage is $14 per hour.
