Grant writing workshop planned
K-State Research and Extension Midway District will conduct a grant writing workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Dole-Specter Conference Center in Russell. The workshop is presented by Nancy Daniels and Nadine Sigle, community vitality specialists with K-State Research and Extension. Daniels is the author of many grant proposals, and Sigle works with Hansen Foundation to help northwest Kansas. “This workshop is for everyone, whether they’ve never written a proposal before and have no idea where to start, to those who have experience but are looking for ways to improve their approach,” Daniels said. Sigle has seen the power of communities working together all over northwest Kansas when local partnerships leverage Dane G. Hansen Foundation funding with other grant sources to change their community. Workshop topics include: Sources of data for community needs, where to find grants, the five common elements of a great grant proposal and practicing the grant writing elements. There is a $25 fee for the workshop, including lunch. Checks should be payable to the Midway Extension District. Payment needs to be made prior to the event. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 3. More information and registration is available by calling Jessica Kootz at the K-State Research and Extension Midway District, (785) 472-4442, or by emailing her at jessicak@ksu.edu.
