Grain prices mixed for the week

Prices paid for grain at the Ellsworth Co-op at the end of the business day, Monday, Oct. 21, were:

Wheat, bu. — $3.84, unchanged from Oct. 14. Milo, bu. — $3.22, down 10 cents. Soybeans, bu. — $8.12, down 8 cents. Corn, bu. — $3.57, down 10 cents.

The co-op has locations in Ellsworth, Black Wolf, Farhman, Hitschmann, Holyrood and Kanopolis.

Rails easement approved

HOLYROOD — Main Street will be closed from Concord to north of H&B Communications Oct. 29 for Halloween Boo Bash & Chili Cook Off, thanks to action taken at the most recent meeting of the Holyrood City Council. In other action Oct. 7:

• Council members voted unanimously to approve an easement for Rails for Trails.

• Council member Allison Koch was authorized to participate in First Impressions, a program where representatives from a town similar in size to Holyrood visit and offer their impressions. Holyrood representatives also visit the other town.

• Mayor Kenny Schepmann was appointed city proxy for the Oct. 15 Ellsworth County sheriff ’s tax auction.

• No action was taken after the council went into executive session to protect the city’s right to the confidentiality of its negotiating position, negotiating matters and the public interest for the preliminary discussion of the acquisition or real property.

Booster club to stage Bingo Night

The Wilson Booster Club will present community Bingo Night Nov. 15 in the Wilson School Commons. Door open at 6:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 7. Concessions will be available.
