COME SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS: The Central Plains USD 112 school district conducts a public meeting at 7 p.m. at Central Plains Elementary School in Holyrood to take public comment on where they think the district should go in the future. Gary Sechrist of the Kansas Association of School Boards will moderate the meeting. DRIVE GREEN: Stop by Carrico Implement, Ellsworth, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and test drive John Deere equipment.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12

NEW BUSINESS IN TOWN: Debbie Mog is the speaker for the monthly luncheon meeting of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce from noon to 1 p..m. in the community room at the Ellsworth Golf Course. She will talk about the new High Jinks Rec Club at 301 West North Main, Ellsworth, and the county cancer fund. CHILDCARE AND LEARNING CENTER MEETING: The Ellsworth Childcare and Learning Center conducts a meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the center’s basement to update the community on the center. Topics include financial solvency, leadership and staffing. All are welcome to attend. DRIVE GREEN: Stop by Carrico Implement, Ellsworth, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and test drive John Deere equipment.

SATURDAY, APRIL 13

MEET THE EASTER BUNNY: The Ellsworth Easter Egg Hunt is at 3 p.m. at the Ellsworth baseball fields. Free scholastic book per child. FASHION FIRST: Classy Lady Boutique stages a fashion show from noon to 2 p.m. in the basement of Ellsworth’s Presbyterian Church to benefit the ECMC Auxiliary. Salad lunch served. Tickets on sale at boutique or call Diane O’Connor, (785) 472-5481. PHEASANTS FOREVER BANQUET: The Smoky Hill River Pheasants Forever Banquet will be held at the Ellsworth American Legion. Social will be at 6 p.m., Dinner at 7 p.m., and the Live Auction will take place at 8 p.m. LEGISLATIVE UPDATE: Tom Sawyer, minority leader of the Kansas House of Representatives, is the speaker for the first Ellsworth County Democratic Party Spring Meeting at 10:15 a.m. at the Ellsworth Steakhouse. Public welcome. SPECIAL NIGHT: Central Plains students celebrate prom at 6 p.m. in the community center at Claflin. MONDAY, APRIL 15

COUNTY BUSINESS: Ellsworth County commissioners meet at 9 a.m. in the courthouse meeting room. Agenda available after noon on the Friday before the meeting. CITY BUSINESS: The Wilson City Council meets at 7 p.m. at city hall.

TUESDAY, APRIL 16

CITY BUSINESS: The Lorraine City Council meets at 7 p.m. at city hall.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17

HOSPITAL BUSINESS: The Ellsworth County Medical Center board of directors meets at 5:30 p.m. in the hospital conference room.

FRIDAY, APRIL 19

GIFT OF LIFE: The Ellsworth Community Blood Drive is from 1 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion building. Note change of location.

SATURDAY, APRIL 20

WILSON EASTER: The Wilson Winners 4-H Club organizes Wilson Easter Egg Hunts at 10 a.m. for ages kindergarten and younger at the Wilson Care & Rehabilitation Center and at 10:20 a.m. for grades 1-5 in the Lions Club Park.
