Commissioners to canvass Nov. 18
Ellsworth County commissioners will canvass votes from the 2019 city and school board elections Monday, Nov. 18.
Election officer Shelly Vopat told the I-R this past week that she did not expect the canvass to change the outcome of any races — with the possible exception of two, the mayor of Lorraine and the Wilson City Council.
Here are the unofficial results of those contests:
Wilson Council
(two seats open) David Criswell, 138 Ryan Stoppel, 100 Gary Everett (I), 80 Steve R. Claussen, 52 Jerry Florian, 18 Write-in, 82 Write-in, 17
Lorraine Mayor:
Kimberly Travnichek, 15 Joe Togersen, 13 Vernon Donbraska, 6 Write-in, 5
The other change from the Independent-Reporter’s election night coverage was the Central Plains School District at-large position.
Incumbent Michelle Brokes was ahead of Chad Rogers at press time; however, results from Rice and Barton counties remained uncounted.
The final unofficial count was Rogers, 806, and Brokes, 469.
