Family Reunion
Bailey Family
The descendants of Martin Luther and Annetta (Livingston) Bailey gathered June 9 at the Ellsworth Senior Center for the annual Bailey Family Reunion. Memories, pictures and food were shared throughout the afternoon with the 77 family members in attendance. During family introductions, Katie Mollhagen proudly reminded the group she was the oldest one at the reunion.
The children of Martin Luther and Annetta (Livingston) Bailey were: Lilly Bailey, Bess (Bailey) Reed, Will Bailey, Emily (Bailey) Reed, Irene (Bailey) Davis, Edith (Bailey) Fleming, Bertha (Bailey) Kruse, Ruth (Bailey) Dolezal, Albert Bailey and Jessie (Bailey) Long.

The 2020 Bailey Family Reunion will be held June 14 at the Ellsworth Senior Center.
Club News
FCE Friendly Neighbors
The FCE Friendly Neighbors met June 18 at Prairie West. The meeting was called to order by President Sylvia McNeal and roll call was answered by the question,“What does trustworthiness mean to you”?
Members attending were Sylvia McNeal, Diane O’Connor, Avis Foster, Alice Doman, Ellen Brownback and Dorothy Thomas. Guests were Mary Herzog and Wadonna Bircher.
• Minutes from the May 21 meeting and the treasurer’s report were approved.
• Communications: Avis shared a thank you card received from The Ellsworth Area Arts Council.
• Unfinished Business: Diane advised the correct time to set up for the Open Class Fair is 9 a.m. A meeting for supervisors and volunteers will be at 3:30 p.m. July 9 at the courthouse meeting room.
• New business: Norma Nicholas will be leaving the club.
The group discussed where to have the August dinner.
Ellen will be hostess and have the program for September. She gave the joke of the day.
• Health Report: Sylvia discussed computer scams.
• Events: The paperwork is completed for the kid’s lunches. They will start June 19 at the library in Ellsworth and the Catholic Church in Kanopolis. Serving time is 11:30 a.m. until noon.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at Prairie West. The program will be given by Ellen on recycling.
After the meeting, Sylvia presented the program “Character Counts — Trustworthiness”.
