District Court

CRIMINAL TRESPASS — State of Kansas vs. Mark Daniel Lee, criminal trespass. Lee pleaded guilty. He was ordered to serve 180 days in the Ellsworth County Jail, with credit for three days served and the remaining 177 days suspended. The suspended sentence is contingent upon Lee’s successful completion of a six month term of unsupervised probation. He was also ordered to pay a $100 fine, a $158 docket fee, a $45 booking fee and $200 in court appointed attorney fees. UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE — State of Kansas vs. Dena Portis, unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Portis pleaded guilty to the amended complaint of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. All other charges were dismissed. She was ordered to serve 180 days in jail, with credit for 92 days. The remaining 92 days were suspended, contingent upon completion of a 12 month period of unsupervised probation. All fines and costs were waived due to manifest hardship shown by Portis.

Wilson Police

At 4:30 p.m. March 31, the Wilson Police Department investigated a report of a man and woman asking for fuel money at the Stop 2 Shop in Wilson. After checking the license tag on the sports utility vehicle, it came back with a possible probation violation with the Kansas Department of Corrections. A one block foot chase took place with the man before he was arrested for the warrant and felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He was transported to the Ellsworth County Jail where he is awaiting charges. The woman was released and not charged. The Ellsworth County Sheriff ’s Office assisted in the arrest.

The Christine V. Klingler Family Trust, Robert R. Manes Jr., trustee, John and Elaine Grothusen, Jane E. Moore, Ann and George Jones and Clay and Susan Manes grant and convey to Richard Plinsky the southwest quarter of Section 14-14-8 in Ellsworth County, Kan. Daniel M. Ray and Nellora V. Svaty, co-executors of the will of Donald L. Ray, grant and convey to William Dains Lot 2, Block 1, in Hodgden’s Addition to the City of Ellsworth. Cindy L. Stroede conveys and warrants to Sierra Rose Stroede Lots 18 and 19 in Block 13 in the City of Ellsworth. Larry E. Marker and Janet Werkentine convey and warrant to Karen Kay Pepper Lot 8, Block 13, in the original City of Wilson. USD 112 of Ellsworth County, Kan., conveys and quit claims to Lana Stueder a tract of land in the southeast quarter of Section 10-17-10 in Ellsworth County, Kan. The tract contains 0.032 acres, more or less. Betty L. Koch, trustee of the Betty L. Koch Trust No. 1, grants and conveys to Kenneth and Jody Gieselman the west half of Lot 2, Block 3, of the Holly Dell addition to the City of Holyrood.
