CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE: The office of the I-R is closed today and Friday so employees can celebrate July 4 with their families. HOT DOGS AND HAMBURGERS: The Ellsworth American Legion Post 174 hosts an Independence Day hamburger and hot dog feed for a free will donation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the post home in Ellsworth. Menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, watermelon and a drink. Everyone welcome.

WATER PLAY: Ellsworth’s Kiwanis Club dedicates the town’s new splash pad at 11:30 a.m. in Preisker Park. H&B to provide hot dog lunch. Public welcome.
