KBI visits Wilson on assault investigation

WILSON — A spokesman for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation confirmed in an e-mail to the Independent-Reporter Tuesday morning that the agency is assisting the Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office with a sexual assault investigation in Wilson.
“The investigation is ongoing,” Melissa Underwood, KBI communications director, wrote.
The Independent-Reporter called the KBI in Topeka after a concerned citizen asked the I-R to investigate the presence of KBI agents in Wilson on Monday.
Ellsworth County Sheriff Murray Marston was in a meeting Tuesday morning and unavailable for comment by press time.
