NIXON SIGNS WITH BARTON

CLAFLIN — Kassidy Nixon, a senior at Central Plains High School in Claflin, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Barton Community College in Great Bend.

Nixon, a four-year starting middle hitter/blocker, setter, and defensive specialist, is the school career leader for several categories: service aces (167), kills (1339), assisted blocks (179), and total digs (1039). This season she posted 432 kills to lead all hitters in Class 1A Division 2.

Team accomplishments include back-to-back 1A state championships in 2019 and 2020, and a third place finish in 2021.

Personal Accomplishments include back-to-back Kansas Volleyball Association Class 1A Player of the Year for 2020 and 2021; KVA State All Tournament Team 2019, 2020, and 2021; and Central Prairie League First Team Unanimous.
