Central Plains girls beat Larned The Central Plains Jr./Sr. High School Oiler varsity girls’ basketball team won another one at home Jan. 16, defeating the Larned Indians 54-26.

Brynna Hammeke led the scoring for Central Plains with 25 points. She was followed by Marilyn Soeken with 16, Kyla Metro with 6, Grace Lamatsch with 5 and Melissa Donecker with 2.

Sunrise Christian bests Oiler girls The Central Plains Jr./Sr. High School Oiler varsity girls’ basketball team did something Jan. 20 they’ve only done a handful of times this season — they lost a game.

The loss was to Sunrise Christian Academy of Bel Aire by a score of 60-28. The defeat came during play in the Mid-Winter Classic in St. John.

Scoring for Central Plains were Brynna Hammeke with 13 points, Marilyn Soeken with 11 points and Kylie Kempke and Melissa Donecker each with 2 points.
