Soukup receives scholarship

Natalie Soukup is a 2019-20 Golden Plains Credit Union scholarship recipient. She will receive a $500 scholarship. Soukup is the daughter of Jean Soukup and Rick and Deanna Soukup and an Ellsworth High School graduate. She is attending Kansas Wesleyan University, majoring in criminal justice.

WSU dean’s honor roll

Wichita State University announced the names of more than 3,000 students who were on the WSU dean’s honor roll for spring 2019. To be included on the dean’s honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The students are: Whitney A. Bahr, Logan S. Gose, Luke A. Oberle, Alexis A. Stefek, all of Ellsworth. Kendyl E. Zorn of Wilson. WSU enrolls more than 15,000 students and offers more than 50 undergraduate degree programs in more than 150 areas of study in six undergraduate colleges.

BCC summer graduates

Barton Community College has announced its list of graduates who earned associate degrees or certificates for career training during the summer semester of 2019. Bushton: Rosa Vasquez, Pharmacy Technician Certificate. Ellsworth: Tony Hunt, A.G.S.; Momodou Jallow, A.G.S.; David Marcus, A.G.S.

FHSU summer graduates

A total of 534 students completed associate, bachelor’s or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University in the summer 2019 term. The university conferred 137 graduate degrees (master’s, Education Specialist and Doctor of Nursing Practice) and 397 undergraduate degrees (associate’s and bachelor’s). Graduates who requested privacy are included in the count but omitted from this listing. Claflin: Patricia Cauthon, a Bachelor of General Studies (child development). Wilson: Kaci C. Nichols, a Master of Science in counseling (school).
